What We Believe
Our core beliefs reflect the truth of Scripture and the hope we have in Jesus Christ.
About God
We believe in the one eternal God who is unlimited in power, holy in His nature, His attributes, and His purpose, and who possesses absolute, indivisible deity. We believe there is only one God (Deuteronomy 6:4). He is the Creator of heaven and earth, and of all living beings. He has revealed Himself to humanity as the Father (Creator), the Son (Savior), and the Holy Ghost (indwelling Spirit).
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified on Calvary for the sins of humanity, and physically arose from the grave. Through His death and resurrection, we receive personal salvation and power for victorious living.
About the Bible
We believe God originated and inspired the Bible, and that the Bible is God's message to humanity. We accept the Bible as the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
About Salvation
We believe that every person has sinned and stands in need of redemption, which is obtained through faith in the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. Those repenting of sin and being born again of water and Spirit become children of God (John 3:5, Acts 2:38).
We believe in water baptism by immersion in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sin, and the infilling of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in another tongue unknown to the believer.
About the Church
The church has never been perfect. However, we believe the church has been "called out" of the world to be a group of people who follow Jesus Christ. These Christ followers, through the power of the Holy Spirit, will effect genuine spiritual change in their community and those around them.
As the body of Christ on earth, the church offers hope to humanity. It is one group made up of many members, diverse in their gifts and callings. Discovery takes seriously our role to serve our community and exists as a place that offers people hope and purpose—even as we challenge people to discover and live a Christ-centered life.
About the Second Coming
We believe Jesus Christ will return to receive the church unto Himself. At His coming, the dead in Christ will rise, and those who are alive will be caught up together with them to meet the Lord in the air.
We believe in Christ’s millennial reign upon the earth. This blessed hope inspires us to live lives of expectation and holiness as we await His glorious return.

To passionately love God and love people, spreading the message of the Apostolic Pentecostal faith through worship, service, and community outreach.
